Frequently Asked Questiosn

Q. Will Extreme Pizza find me a location?
A. Extreme Pizza will assist you in obtaining a qualified real estate professional who will know your market and your specific needs. We will then work with your real estate agent by sharing site selection criteria for an Extreme Pizza store. After a site is found, we will then visit the site, examine the dynamics of the market and give your assessment. Once an area or location has been approved by Extreme Pizza, we will help you with certain negotiating points with your Landlord.

Q. Will Extreme Pizza provide financing?
A. Unfortunately we cannot provide loans to prospective franchises. Extreme Pizza has several pre-approved lenders to whom we send our qualified franchisees.

Q. What is the initial franchise fee?
A. The initial franchise fee schedule is as follows: $30,000 for first location, $20,000 for your second location, $15,000 for your third and each additional location. The fee is due upon the signing of the Franchise Agreement.

Q. Do I buy my equipment through Extreme Pizza?
A. We will provide you with the proper equipment specifications and then you have the freedom to choose your supplier.

Q. What fees are associated with owning an Extreme Pizza franchise?
A. A one time fee of $30,000 is charged for the first franchise. There is an on-going royalty fee of 4% of sales and an on-going advertising and design fee of 1%.

Q. How much do I need to invest?
A. The estimated cost of operating an Extreme Pizza ranges from $169,000 to $376,000. It is important to note that these costs are estimates only. Actual costs will vary from market to market.

Q. How much training will I need?
A. You will receive a comprehensive training program that is six weeks in length. This training includes classroom training as well as in-store training covering everything from employee hiring, training and food preparation bookkeeping, customer service, management, and advertising. The first four weeks of this training will take place in our corporate training facility in San Francisco and the remaining two weeks will be held in your location prior to and ruing your opening. Additionally, you will receive our comprehensive operations manual that covers in detail everything you need to know to open an Extreme Pizza. While your six weeks of training are provided by Extreme Pizza, outside costs such as travel, meals, salary, and lodging, among others are the responsibility of the franchisee.

Q. How long does it take to open a restaurant?
A. It depends on several factors. The biggest variable is the ability to obtain a quality site. Remember it's all about location, location, location, so we like to spend the right amount of time finding the best spot for your store. After a location is found and a lease is negotiated and then signed, we will have a better picture of an opening date. Typically, once a Franchise Agreement is signed, a store can be opened within 6-12 months.

Q. Do I need a restaurant experience to be successful with Extreme Pizza franchise?
A. While restaurant experience is always beneficial, as well as managerial experience, it is not required. Years of experience have shown us that hard work (lots and lots of it) and a positive attitude is what it takes to make your business a success. Extreme Pizza is dedicated to helping you succeed and we trust you will share this same dedication.

In our opinion, franchising is a team sport. We're here to help you succeed - period. We've developed an intensive and extensive training program that we believe will prepare you for the ups, the downs and everything in between of owning your ownpizza business.

Prior to opening a new location, we require that all franchisees be thoroughly trained in all facets of running a pizza business. As part of the initial franchise fee, we provide hands-on training at our Extreme Pizza corporate offices in San Francisco and at your location as well. While in San Francisco, franchisees will meet with the corporate team and visit corporate stores where they will learn food and product preparation, food and labor management, human resource management, customer relations, financial management, inventory and cost control and marketing.

Of course it's impossible to learn everything in six weeks that our team has learned in more than ten years of a doing business, which is why we provide you with a rock-solid support system to help you throughout your Extreme Pizza franchise experience. Once your store is up and running, an Extreme Pizza franchise agent, and the rest of the corporate team, will be available for ongoing support and training. As necessary, we will make visits to your location to provide one-on-one counsel. Additionally we will provide group training sessions open to all franchisees throughout the year, and will offer the opportunity to attend regional meetings and seminars that will enable you to meet and mingle with other franchisees in the Extreme Pizza system.
